The Skipper!

Well, Fergie’s Cafe has done it again!  First, we’re exceeding expectations with our home-made sausages, and pulled pork.  People have been visiting on weekends from as far away as Chilliwack just for the food!  Now, Fergie’s has been voted “Best Breakfast” in the annual local newspaper’s Reader’s Poll awards.  A big title to wear, in a town with so many great options for breakfast!  Is it the Dubliner Eggs Benny?  The Pulled Pork Benny?  The Southern Spicy Salami Hash?  The Skipper???  All of the above? Not sure, but we know we’d like to say a big THANKS to all who voted for us!  It’s been a long couple years trying to get established, and this really makes us feel like we’re taking a step in the right direction!  Special thanks to Fergie’s staff:  Pixie, Brad, John, Dustin & Stephanie!

The Scoop:

Power your way through some of the most spectacular scenery in British Columbia on over 18 km of nearly continuous whitewater!  The Elaho valley is an unspoiled wilderness, with old growth forests, hanging glaciers, cascading waterfalls… and two mighty Class IV rivers for you to conquer!  All of our internationally experienced guides are trained above the industry standard, with a minimum 80hr first aid course and a Swiftwater Rescue Level 1 course, so you can rest assure you’ll be in good hands!

Departs Whistler at 8:45, Sunwolf at 9:30.  No experience necessary, training is provided.

Why “Fergie’s”?  Well, before Sunwolf ever existed, it was a very well-known fishing hotspot called Fergie’s Lodge.  Fishermen came from all over BC and northwestern Washington to fish the Cheakamus, Squamish and Ashlu rivers for Salmon, Steelhead and Char.  Today, people are still coming to these rivers for the fishing, so why not give them something to relate to?  Fergie’s Cafe it is!
