Why “Fergie’s”? Well, before Sunwolf ever existed, it was a very well-known fishing hotspot called Fergie’s Lodge. Fishermen came from all over BC and northwestern Washington to fish the Cheakamus, Squamish and Ashlu rivers for Salmon, Steelhead and Char. Today, people are still coming to these rivers for the fishing, so why not give them something to relate to? Fergie’s Cafe it is!

Every year, Brackendale hosts one of the largest populations of bald eagles in the world. In 1994 the highest concentration of bald eagles ever counted gathered here – over 3700. Starting in mid November and continuing through February these magnificent birds feed on the salmon that spawn in the glacial fed Squamish and Cheakamus rivers. During this spectacular season, Sunwolf provides the opportunity to view the eagles from a remarkable vantage point – the river. As you gently float by, our experienced and knowledgeable guides will educate you about the life cycle of the bald eagle and the salmon it depends upon, along with the incredible flora and fauna of our environment. This is a wonderful trip for all the family, especially those interested in wildlife viewing, bird watching or photography.

Sunwolf is Pet Friendly!

Situated at the confluence of the Cheakamus and Cheekye rivers, on 5 acres of grassy woodland, all of which is leash free, this is a pet heaven! There is an abundance of great walking and hiking right from our doorstep, not to mention the lovely rivers to cool hot paws in at the end of the day! We accept any pets – from Alsatian to Zebra – as long as they bring someone to pick up their mess! They are welcome inside the cabins, though it is understood that any damage will be paid for. There is a one-time fee of $15 CDN per pet to cover cleaning costs.
